Pumpkin pie protein shake

It’s that time of year where pumpkin-flavored items are dominating the grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, and coffee shops. You can’t escape it. And you don’t want to, because it’s delicious. Call me basic, I don’t care.

Most of those delicious pumpkin treats are loaded with sugar, and have little nutritional value.

Here is where I step in, introducing you to a thick & creamy shake that tastes like pumpkin pie. It’s also loaded with protein and fiber to keep you full, and doesn’t contain a ton of added sugar. Oh, and it’s also vegan. You’re welcome.

THE PUMPKIN PIE PROTEIN SHAKE

What you need:

1 cup of almond milk, unsweetened

1/2 cup of pumpkin puree

1 frozen banana

1 serving of vanilla hemp protein powder (I use the Trader Joe’s brand, so one serving for me is 4 Tbsp.)

1 Tbsp. pure maple syrup

2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

DUMP ALL OF YOUR INGREDIENTS INTO A BLENDER!

just dump it, really.

BLEND AWAY! You want to make sure it is smooth, with no frozen chunks. Depending on how powerful your blender is, you may need to add more almond milk to thin out the shake.

Pour into  a glass and enjoy!
